Intro
The Genesis Vagabond 20 in Mauvist Mauve represents the most complete evolution of the Vagabond platform: a bike designed for unlimited exploration, capable of handling technical terrain, substantial loads, and long distances with a higher level of control and reliability.
The new, longer, more stable, and slacker geometry completely redefines the ride compared with previous versions: more front-end space, greater confidence in technical sections, and a less fatiguing position on long days in the saddle.
The SRAM Apex XPLR Eagle 1x12 groupset, with MTB-derived gearing and hydraulic brakes, takes the Vagabond 20 to a more advanced level in terms of performance and bike control.
Performance and on-road behaviour
The Vagabond 20 is a platform designed to move beyond the limits of traditional gravel.
Modern geometry with a 69° head angle, 2.35” tyres, and a long rear end define a bike that remains extremely stable and predictable even on demanding terrain.
The result:
High control on technical dirt and descents
Excellent stability with substantial loads
The ability to handle rough surfaces without excessive fatigue
Ride behaviour closer to a rigid MTB than to a gravel bike
The new geometry introduces a real change compared with the past:
Longer front end and less “compressed” riding position
Better toe overlap management
More natural positioning over long distances
Reviews and positioning
