The Bombtrack Audax Metallic Dark Brown is a steel allroad/endurance bike built for riders who put real long-distance comfort first, want the ability to adapt to different surfaces and appreciate a ride feel that is more filtered and progressive than the aluminium versions.
The Columbus Cromor double-butted frame delivers the classic feel of steel: vibration absorption, stability and long-term durability. The full carbon fork keeps the front end lighter and expands versatility thanks to its accessory mounts, while the Shimano GRX 2×11 groupset and hydraulic brakes complete a setup designed for real-world, continuous, long-range use.
Why it’s an Audax

Technical specifications (summary)
Frame: Columbus Cromor double-butted, TA, rack / fender mounts, internal light cable routing, rear light mount, T47 86.5 mm.
Fork: full carbon, TA, 1.1/2'' - 1.1/8'', with fender / cage mounts.
Groupset: Shimano GRX 2×11.
Crankset: Bombtrack Lyer, direct mount interface, 30 mm spindle, 48 / 32T chainrings.
Cassette: Shimano 105 11-speed, 11–34T.
Brakes: Shimano GRX BR-RX400 hydraulic disc brakes, 160 mm rotors.
Wheels: WTB ST i25 TCS 2.0 rims with Bombtrack Tau hubs, 650B format.
The bike comes stock with 650B wheels and 47 mm tyres: this is the standard build, designed to prioritise comfort, stability and control on rough tarmac, white roads and mixed routes.
Compatibility with 700C wheels up to 35 mm does not mean the bike comes in a dual wheel format from the factory. It means that the frame and fork can accept a second complete wheelset, different from the one fitted as standard.
This point matters: 650B and 700C are two different wheel diameters, so this is not only about changing tyre width, but about changing the entire wheel/rim format.
In practice, with two wheelsets you can get two distinct ride characteristics:
650B: maximum comfort, grip and vibration damping.
700C: more speed and smoother rolling on tarmac, with a ride feel closer to a long-distance endurance road bike.
This flexibility makes the Audax a very smart platform: as standard it remains a steel allroad/endurance bike with a comfort-first character, but with an additional 700C wheelset it can also become a highly effective bike in more road-focused contexts.

¹ The bike size recommendation is intended as a general guideline to narrow down options based on rider height. Bike fitting is a complex topic and also depends on other body measurements and personal preferences. Since no two riders are exactly alike, it is impossible to provide a 100% accurate recommendation for everyone. The best way to determine the ideal size is to consult your Bombtrack dealer (info@bikejamming.it) or a professional bike fitter.
