Real-world use and positioning
The Seido MGV is a carbon adventure fork designed for riders looking for a modern, lightweight travel setup with genuine load-carrying capability.
Unlike many lightweight gravel or bikepacking forks, the MGV was developed to combine low weight, generous tyre clearance and real luggage capacity, including compatibility with lowrider front racks.
It is the fork used on platforms such as the Bombtrack Hook EXT and Beyond Ti, as well as numerous custom builds focused on adventure riding, travel and mixed-terrain use.
The 410 mm axle-to-crown length (fork height affecting bike geometry and handling) makes it suitable for modern adventure and all-road frames where the goal is to balance off-road capability, tyre clearance and stability under load.
The Seido MGV is a coherent solution for riders looking for a lighter, more dynamic travel bike compared with a traditional expedition platform, without giving up the ability to carry real gear.
Differences from other adventure forks
Compared with the Ritchey WCS Carbon Mountain Adventure, the Seido MGV is less focused on rigid MTB use and technical off-road terrain, and more oriented toward travel, all-road riding and loaded adventure setups.
It uses a 12×100 mm axle standard and Flat Mount brake interface, with an approach closer to modern gravel and adventure platforms.
Compared with the Ritchey WCS Steel Adventure, it prioritises lower weight and greater carrying capacity thanks to lowrider compatibility up to 20 kg total, while maintaining a more dynamic ride feel.
Compared with the Seido BPS, it is far less focused on extreme expedition use or replacing suspension MTB forks. Instead, it is designed for fast travel, mixed terrain and self-supported riding on a lighter platform.
Cargo, touring and bikepacking
The MGV is one of the few carbon forks genuinely designed to carry meaningful luggage loads.
It includes:
triple mounts for cargo cages,
lowrider rack mounts,
fender mounts,
front light mount,
internal dynamo cable routing,
compatibility with fully internal brake hose routing.
Its carrying capacity is one of its standout features:
up to 20 kg total with a lowrider rack mounted on both sides
4.5 kg total on the triple cage mounts
1.5 kg per individual eyelet
This makes serious travel configurations possible without necessarily moving to much heavier expedition forks.
Tyre clearance up to 29×2.25" or 27.5×2.5" further increases the bike’s versatility on gravel, dirt roads and mixed terrain.
Bike compatibility and setup
The Seido MGV uses:
tapered 1-1/8" – 1-1/2" steerer
12×100 mm axle standard
Flat Mount brake interface
160–180 mm rotor compatibility
The 410 mm axle-to-crown measurement should always be checked carefully against the original fork specification, as a significant difference can affect riding position, steering and overall bike handling.
This version is the MGV 410, more specifically oriented toward modern adventure and travel platforms.
Two finishes are available:
Matt black
Glossy black
For Seido carbon forks, only a dedicated carbon fork expander must be used. It is included in the box.
Complete installation, use and maintenance instructions are supplied with the fork and should always be followed carefully.

Contact us before purchase to check frame compatibility, fork height, axle standard, tyre clearance and the most suitable bike setup based on your intended use.
Yes, but especially for bikepacking and travel with real luggage loads. It is one of the few carbon forks compatible with lowrider racks carrying up to 20 kg total.
Can I fit a lowrider rack?
Yes. The fork was specifically designed to work with front lowrider racks and this is one of the key features that differentiates it from many carbon adventure forks.
How does it compare with the Ritchey Carbon Mountain Adventure?
The Seido MGV is more focused on travel and loaded adventure riding, with modern gravel/adventure standards and lowrider compatibility. The Ritchey Carbon Mountain Adventure is more oriented toward rigid MTB use and technical terrain.
What tyre size can I run?
Declared clearance is up to 29×2.25" or 27.5×2.5", depending on tyre and rim combination.
Can I replace any gravel fork with the MGV?
Not always. Fork height (410 mm axle-to-crown), axle standard and frame geometry should always be checked before purchase.
