Bombtrack Beyond 1 – Metallic Black
The Bombtrack Beyond 1 – Metallic Black is an adventure bike designed for riders who want to go beyond asphalt and set no limits on terrain.
4130 double-butted chromoly steel frame and fork, 27.5" wheels on XS–S sizes and 29" on M–XL, Microshift Sword 2×10 drivetrain and TRP Spyre disc brakes: a solid package, serviceable anywhere and perfect for bikepacking, off-road touring and long-distance gravel travel.
The Beyond 1 geometry combines stability under load with trail handling: long chainstays ensure control and traction, the tall head tube provides a comfortable riding position, and the Bombtrack Beyond travel bar (wide flare) offers multiple hand positions to reduce fatigue on long days. It’s a drop-bar adventure bike that stays balanced and capable, yet is ready to handle miles, luggage and demanding terrain.
Compared to a gravel bike, it offers greater stability and load capacity on demanding surfaces. Compared to a road touring bike, it is designed to perform better on continuous off-road and variable conditions.
Why Beyond 1
Proven adventure geometry: stability under load, control on technical terrain, comfort over long distances.
4130 double-butted steel frame and fork, built to absorb impacts, vibrations and real-world touring stress.
Size-specific wheels: 27.5" on XS–S and 29" on M–XL to maintain consistent ride feel across all sizes.
Off-road specific drop bar, with pronounced flare for improved control on descents and rough terrain.
Multiple mounts for racks, bags, bottles, lights and travel accessories.
Key strengths
Microshift Sword 2×10 drivetrain with 40/28T chainrings and 11–38T cassette: gearing ready for steep climbs with a full load.
TRP Spyre C mechanical disc brakes: robust, easy to adjust and reliable even far from a workshop.
WTB ST i23 tubeless-ready wheels with WTB Ranger 2.0" tires: grip, comfort and control on gravel, dirt roads and light singletrack.
Steel fork with triple mounts, rack compatibility and internal dynamo routing: perfect for front-loaders, low riders and expedition setups.
High load capacity (system up to 140 kg) and MTB standards (BSA 73 mm BB, ISO MTB standard) for long-term compatibility.
Beyond 1 is a drop-bar adventure bike in the Bombtrack range: a steel “rigid” platform built for long journeys, demanding off-road and mixed terrain. A robust platform that combines MTB components with a gravel cockpit to deliver comfort, control and reliability anywhere in the world.
Ideal for
Bikepacking and off-road touring on gravel, forest roads and mixed terrain.
Multi-day trips with bags, racks and significant loads.
Aggressive gravel, light singletrack and less-traveled trails.
Daily use on rough roads, dirt roads and demanding urban routes.
Riders looking for one bike to explore, travel and enjoy off-road riding.
Tire clearance
Frame – max without fenders: XS–S: 27.5" × 2.1" M–XL: 29" × 2.1"
Fork – max without fenders: XS–S: 27.5" × 2.1" M–XL: 29" × 2.1"
Technical interpretation
The Beyond 1 uses a size-specific wheel setup to maintain similar handling across all sizes: XS and S on 27.5", M–XL on 29". This allows smaller sizes to remain more agile, while larger sizes benefit from the rolling efficiency of 29".
Clearance up to 2.1" (both frame and fork) places it between an extreme gravel bike and a rigid touring MTB: enough room for serious off-road tires without turning the bike into something bulky or difficult to manage on paved transfers.
The 73 mm BSA bottom bracket and ISO MTB standard make it easy to replace components even while traveling, while the 15 mm front and 12 mm rear thru-axles ensure stiffness and precise handling under load and on technical terrain.

FAQ Bombtrack Beyond 1
Is the Bombtrack Beyond 1 suitable for bikepacking?
Yes. It is specifically designed for bikepacking and off-road touring: the steel frame and fork with multiple mounting points allow you to install bags, cages and racks without compromising stability.
Can it be used with heavy loads and long trips?
Yes, it is a platform designed to perform under continuous load. Stable geometry, long rear end and steel construction ensure control even with front and rear panniers on multi-day routes.
What type of terrain is it best suited for?
It performs best on continuous gravel, forest roads, dirt roads and demanding mixed routes. It can also be used on asphalt, but it is built to excel off-road.
Is the 2x10 drivetrain suitable for touring?
Yes. The 2x10 setup with wide gear range allows you to manage long climbs and heavy loads while maintaining a steady cadence, which is essential on multi-day trips.
Is it more of a gravel bike or a touring bike?
It is closer to an adventure touring platform than a classic gravel bike. Compared to many gravel bikes, it prioritizes stability under load, durability and control on difficult terrain.
What is the difference compared to a traditional gravel bike?
A gravel bike is generally more reactive and designed for lighter loads. The Beyond 1 is built for structural load, greater stability and prolonged use on more demanding terrain.

¹ Bike size recommendations are intended as a general guideline to narrow down options based on rider height. Bike fitting is a complex topic and requires consideration of additional measurements and factors. As no two bodies are exactly the same, it is not possible to provide a 100% accurate recommendation for everyone. The best way to determine the correct size is to contact us (info@bikejamming.it) or consult a professional bike fitter.
