Genesis Equilibrium – four-season steel road bike with rim brakes
The Equilibrium has long been a cornerstone of the Genesis Bikes range, developed as a steel road bike built for real-world riding.
In this rim brake version, the Equilibrium retains a classic, functional setup aimed at year-round road use.
The Reynolds 725 heat-treated chromoly frameset combines durability, low weight and a refined ride feel on rough or broken tarmac. A steel fork maintains consistent handling characteristics and complements the overall balanced nature of the bike.
Model positioning
The Genesis Equilibrium (rim brake) is designed for:
Compared to aggressive race frames, the Equilibrium features a more relaxed geometry, with a longer wheelbase and conservative steering angles, favouring comfort, stability and confidence over short-distance performance.
Ride setup and usability
Supplied with 700×30 mm tyres, the Equilibrium offers increased comfort compared to traditional narrow-tyre road bikes, while remaining firmly road-oriented.
The presence of mudguard and rack mounts allows the bike to be configured for commuting or light touring.
The Shimano 105 11-speed drivetrain provides a proven, versatile gear range, while long-drop rim brakes ensure compatibility with full-length mudguards without compromising braking function.
