Genesis Fugio 20 – gravel adventure bike

The Genesis Fugio 20 is a steel gravel adventure bike built around the Road Plus concept: a platform designed to deliver greater tire volume, increased comfort, and enhanced control as surfaces become rougher. It’s not a classic gravel bike for smooth dirt roads, but a machine intended for rougher mixed terrain, coarse gravel, broken backroads, and light off-road riding.

The Genesis Mjolnir double-butted chromoly steel frame works together with the Carbon Road Plus fork to create a ride that is stable, compliant, and far more forgiving than a traditional gravel setup. The stock configuration with 650B wheels and high-volume tires is a core part of the design, boosting traction, comfort, and confidence—especially when the terrain demands more grip and less rigidity.

The option to switch to 700C wheels further expands the bike’s versatility, but its identity remains clear: a wide-tyre gravel adventure platform with practical mounts for fenders, racks, Anything Cages, and light touring setups. It’s a smart choice for riders looking to move beyond the classic all-road interpretation and toward a bike that is more stable, more comfortable, and more capable on rough terrain.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Genesis Fugio 20

What type of bike is the Genesis Fugio 20?

It’s a wide-tyre gravel adventure bike, designed for riders who often move beyond smooth surfaces and want more comfort, grip, and control than a traditional gravel bike.

Is the Genesis Fugio 20 more gravel or more adventure-oriented?

More adventure-oriented. It retains a gravel-style position and cockpit, but its real strength lies in handling high-volume tires and performing well on mixed or rough terrain.

Do 650B wheels really make a difference?

Yes. With 650B wheels and high-volume tires, the Fugio 20 delivers more traction, greater comfort, and increased confidence on rough surfaces, forest roads, and light technical gravel.

Can you run 700C wheels?

Yes. The frame is also compatible with 700C wheels, up to 40 mm, for riders looking for a faster, more all-road-oriented setup.

Is it suitable for bikepacking?

Yes, especially for light to medium setups. Mounts for fenders, racks, bottles, and Anything Cages make it a strong option for long rides and light touring.

Is the SRAM Apex 1×11 drivetrain suitable for this use?

Yes. It’s a simple and effective solution for gravel adventure and mixed terrain, offering a gear range suited to off-road riding, climbs, and longer outings.

Who is the Fugio 20 really for?

It’s ideal for riders who want a less aggressive, more forgiving gravel bike—capable on real gravel, uneven terrain, and adventure setups without becoming a heavy, expedition-specific touring bike.
