Salsa Cycles

Salsa Cycles is one of the most influential brands in the world of bikepacking and adventure cycling. Founded in the United States and guided by its Adventure by Bike philosophy, Salsa has helped shape some of the most recognisable bicycle platforms for off-road touring, ultra-distance riding and exploration across mixed terrain.

Within the Salsa range, models such as the Fargo, Cutthroat and Warbird represent different approaches to the same goal: travelling further on a bicycle designed for real-world routes, loaded riding, changing conditions and long consecutive days in the saddle.

The Salsa Fargo is widely regarded as a benchmark for off-road bikepacking. Its exceptional versatility allows it to be configured for long-distance touring, remote crossings, technical routes and expedition-style travel.

The Salsa Cutthroat, by contrast, was developed from the experience of the Tour Divide. It takes the adventure bike concept in a faster, more efficiency-focused direction, particularly suited to long-distance dirt-road riding and self-supported ultra-distance events.

The Salsa Vaya takes a different approach, focusing on paved roads and smoother gravel routes. Its steel frame prioritises comfort, stability and luggage-carrying capability for traditional cycle touring and mixed-surface travel.

Alongside complete bikes, Salsa offers a wide selection of framesets that provide a starting point for custom builds. These can incorporate Rohloff hub gears, SON dynamo hubs, dedicated bikepacking and touring wheels, and components selected to suit the terrain, distance and demands of each journey.

At Bikejamming, we select the Salsa bikes and framesets we consider most relevant for cycle touring, adventure cycling and bikepacking.
