Genesis Columbia Road – steel urban & leisure e-bike
The Columbia Road is an urban and leisure e-bike designed in the UK by Genesis Bikes, intended for everyday riding in town as well as relaxed trips on cycle paths, towpaths and light gravel tracks.
Built from Genesis Mjolnir seamless double-butted chromoly steel, the frame is instantly recognisable thanks to its twin top tube and classic silhouette. The dropped top tube creates a step-through design that makes mounting and dismounting easier, particularly in stop-and-go urban use.
Large-volume 29” wheels contribute to stability and comfort across mixed surfaces.
Electric assist system
The Columbia Road is equipped with the Shimano STEPS E6100 system, featuring:
-
250W drive unit with 60 Nm torque
-
418 Wh external battery mounted on the down tube
-
claimed range up to 150 km in Eco mode
The external battery can be removed quickly for charging when a power outlet is not available near the bike. Claimed charging times are around 2 hours to 80% and around 4 hours to 100%.
The handlebar display is clear and easy to read, integrating controls for assistance modes and lighting.
Equipment and everyday use
The Columbia Road is built around a single-chainring, 9-speed drivetrain, hydraulic disc brakes and a practical equipment package designed for daily use:
-
AtranVelo AVS front and rear racks
-
integrated front and rear lighting
-
kickstand
-
Trelock ring lock mounted to the frame
The AtranVelo racks allow compatible baskets, bags and crates to be attached or removed quickly, making the bike suitable for shopping trips and everyday transport.
