Frames

The frame is the structure that defines how a bicycle behaves over time.
It is the design foundation that determines geometry, stability under load, and room for future evolution. If you want to clearly understand how wheelbase, angles and position affect real-world handling, see Bike geometry explained without formulas.

Choosing a frame means starting from the real route and the intended use, not a temporary build. Drivetrain, wheels and cockpit can be changed; the frame’s geometry and character remain. To evaluate when it makes sense to start from a frameset rather than a complete bike, read Frameset or complete bike?.

This category brings together selected platforms for:

The frames we propose prioritize:

  • geometric consistency under prolonged stress
  • compatibility with current standards
  • durability and repairability
  • potential for custom builds

Material choice also affects ride feel, durability and long-term serviceability: learn more in Frame materials guide.

Building a bike from the frame up allows you to define drivetrain, wheels, load system and components precisely around the real route.

If you’re considering a bespoke project, we can help you interpret geometry, standards and compatibility to develop a coherent, sustainable configuration over time: info@bikejamming.it

To get your bearings between adventure, touring and gravel before choosing a platform, see the guide Adventure, Gravel or Touring?

Before defining your build, it can be helpful to read the Travel Bike Buying Guide to clarify the type of real-world route you’ll actually be riding.
