Timeless steel road design with a distinctive identity

The Ritchey Road Logic in the Sally’s Macarons colorway represents the most iconic and expressive version of one of Ritchey’s longest-running steel road frames. While technically identical to the Anthracite version, this color option highlights the heritage and character of the Road Logic platform, blending classic aesthetics with modern road performance.

This is not a nostalgic “vintage” frame, but a contemporary steel road frameset designed for real-world riding: regular training, long-distance road use, endurance riding, and granfondo-style events. The Sally’s Macarons finish does not change the intended use of the frame, but reinforces its identity as a clean, purposeful, and durable road platform.

Frame: Road Logic philosophy and Ritchey construction

The frame is built from heat-treated, triple-butted Ritchey Logic steel tubing and TIG welded to Tom Ritchey’s specifications. An ED Coat (Electrophoretic Deposition) treatment improves corrosion resistance, making the frameset suitable for frequent road use and variable weather conditions.

The straight 1-1/8" head tube is forged and machined, reflecting a clear design choice: prioritizing compatibility, long-term reliability, and ease of maintenance over complex or proprietary solutions. The integrated seat collar reduces external hardware and keeps the seat cluster clean and functional.

External cable routing is used throughout, aligning with the Road Logic concept: support for traditional mechanical drivetrains and straightforward servicing over time.

Fork: WCS carbon for road use

The frameset includes the Ritchey WCS Carbon Road Fork, featuring a straight 1-1/8" steerer with an integrated 45-degree crown race. The fork is designed specifically for road riding and complements the steel frame in terms of ride behavior.

As with carbon road forks of this type, it helps attenuate high-frequency road vibrations, working in combination with the steel frame. This is an inherent material characteristic and one of the reasons carbon forks are commonly paired with steel road frames, rather than a claim beyond the intended design.

Wheels, tires, and road setup

The Road Logic is designed around 700c wheels with tire clearance up to 30 mm. This allows for modern road setups that favor stability and efficiency over long distances while remaining firmly within a pure road riding scope.

Actual tire clearance always depends on the specific tire and rim combination used. When planning a build, we recommend considering real mounted tire widths, particularly when using rims with wider internal widths.

Geometry and size selection

The Road Logic geometry is balanced and road-focused. It is neither extreme nor aggressive, prioritizing stability, predictability, and a sustainable riding position for long hours in the saddle.

The platform works well for endurance-oriented road setups but can be tuned toward a more classic, sport-focused feel through component choice and fit, without turning into a pure race bike.
