Classic steel, modern geometry, real-world road use

The Ritchey Road Logic is a road frameset that brings a classic steel concept into a contemporary context. It is built for riders who value clarity of design, long-term reliability, and a predictable ride feel over extreme integration or short-lived trends.

This is a pure road platform, intended for training, long-distance rides, endurance road use, and granfondo-style riding. Its strength lies in balance: a durable steel structure, a competitive weight for a steel frameset, and geometry that works consistently on real roads.

Frame: WCS Logic tubing and functional construction

The frame is made from heat-treated, triple-butted Ritchey Logic steel tubing and TIG welded to Tom Ritchey’s specifications. An ED Coat (Electrophoretic Deposition) treatment improves corrosion resistance, an important factor for riders using the bike year-round and in varying weather conditions.

The straight 1-1/8" head tube is forged and machined, in line with the Road Logic philosophy: structural simplicity, wide compatibility, and straightforward maintenance. The integrated seat collar reduces external hardware and keeps the seat cluster clean and functional.

External cable routing is used throughout, supporting traditional mechanical groups and ensuring easy serviceability over time.

Fork: WCS carbon and road-specific behavior

The frameset includes the Ritchey WCS Carbon Road Fork. It features a straight 1-1/8" steerer with an integrated 45-degree crown race and is designed specifically for road use.

As with all carbon road forks of this type, it helps attenuate high-frequency road vibrations, working in combination with the steel frame. This is an inherent material characteristic and one of the reasons carbon forks are commonly paired with steel road frames, rather than a comfort claim beyond the design intent.

Wheel and tire compatibility

The Road Logic is designed around 700c wheels with tire clearance up to 30 mm. This allows for modern road setups focused on stability and efficiency over long distances, while maintaining a clearly road-oriented platform.

Actual tire clearance always depends on the specific tire and rim combination used. We recommend considering real mounted tire widths, especially when using rims with wider internal widths.

Geometry and size selection

The Road Logic geometry is balanced and road-focused: stable, predictable, and suitable for sustained riding rather than aggressive race positioning. It can be set up for endurance-oriented riding or a more classic road fit, depending on components and cockpit configuration.

General size guidelines (Ritchey reference)
