BOMBTRACK BICYCLES 2019 PREVIEW
It’s been a great six years for Bombtrack Bicycles Co., turned from a fixed gear brand into a producer of bikes for just about any terrain that can be ridden. Bikes beating the paths of the hidden world, with Mark Maurer travelling in Kyrgyzstan and beyond and Joachim Rosenlund completing the Highland Trail 550 with the exciting Hook EXT-C, one of the highlights of Bombtrack 2018 line.
MY2018 was amazingly exciting and well received. The Beyond+ ADV, Hook EXT and EXT-C, the Audax and other highlights brought big smiles on many faces. For 2019 Bombtrack maintains the same winning fomula, with a few revisions on the existing line of bikes, plus some significant new entries.
While entering the elite European CX circuit with Gosse Van de Meer as new team member, Bombtrack introduces an entirely new line of race ready CX bikes: Tension. The Tension 1and Tension 2 share the same all-new alloy frame featuring some unique hydroforming and geometry inspired by the Hook line. The Tension 3 is the rebirth of Bombtrack carbon CX chassis, built for the toughest of courses.
Bombtrack acclaimed Audax has inspired an aluminium cousin – the Audax AL. Featuring an all new aluminium frame that allows to package 650Bx47 tires, mudguards, road cranks and snappy handling. Hydroformed tubing and intelligent butting is set to redefine the comfort and performance that is achievable in an alloy frame.
Finally Bombtrack is introducing the jacked up alter-ego to the Hook EXT: the Hook ADV. Inspired by the mountain bikes in the 90s, the Hook ADV is a fun, modern, dropbar package: 40 mm of front suspension from MRP, a dropper post from KS, huge tires from WTB and a Rithey cockpit finish off the craziest bike to come from Bombtrack to date.
The introduction of theT47 bottom bracket system to most Bombtrack range for 2019 allows the Bombtrack family to continue to push the boundaries of development with steel frames, including oversized down tubes and wide tire clearance in compact frame packaging while ensuring bullet proof reliability for years to come.
